As usual, no Final Fantasy game will be complete without stunning graphics and beautifully rendered cutscenes. Both pre-rendered cinematics and in-game cutscenes were impressively made to resemble an epic movie. The outstanding English voice actings in which dialogues were delivered effortless without any hint of awkwardness. Combat-wise, there is the usual array of elements such as gil, materia and limit breaks. Fusing materia creates an assortment of new spells and enhanced attack skills, and attacking enemies is relatively easy as you only need to hit the ‘X’ button.

One major feature to make its debut in Crisis Core Final Fantasy is the Digital Mind Wave, a slot reel that contains three character slots while the other three displays numerical digits. You accumulate soldier points in the course of fighting enemies and will indirectly let you unveil devastating limit breaks. In total, there are approximately 19 boss fights culminating in a final battle between you and Genesis, a formidable foe with 99999 HP.

On a final note, I highly recommend PSP Game Crisis Core another Final Fantasy Sequel for its rich story and compelling charm. This is one RPG that won’t let you abandon it mid way.

As if releasing a blockbuster movie is not enough, the makers of the Harry Potter movies are also banking on their video game franchise and hopes to make Harry Potter & the Half Blood Prince a success in the Sony PSP gaming scene. Come November 2008, Potter-maniacs will be able to enjoy back-to-back Potter action on both the silver screen as well as on their smaller but no less dynamic PSP screens.

In this sixth installation of the Potter series, Harry and his trusty mentor Dumbledore are hard at work in order to vanquish the dangerous nuisance that is Voldemort. The game will introduce Professor Horace Slughorn, Dumbledore’s resourceful but hapless colleague-cum-friend, a character that has been well received in the Potter books. The wise head of Hogwarts enlists Slughorn’s help to help gather information and seek out Voldemort’s weaknesses. There will also be side stories pertaining to the Hogwarts students’ love interests especially those involving Harry’s growing affection for Ginny, Ron’s rather one-sided relationship with Lavendar Brown and Hermione’s stubbornness about revealing her true feelings for a certain someone!

Electronic Arts went public about the latest developments for the Harry Potter & the Half Blood Prince PSP game and said that fans can expect to see Harry and Drac duke it out on wizard duels in a special Duelling Room. There will also be potion brewing quests and of course, who can forget about the much awaited Quidditch games? I for one would love to see greater game play control on the PSP platform.

Like a string of handkerchiefs pulled from a magician’s sleeve, Electronic Arts has produced a seemingly never-ending line of Harry Potter games and spin-offs on virtually every possible platform. Beyond the games based on the blockbuster movies, EA has also released Quidditch World Cup–a fantasy sports game based on a competition that played a significant part in the Potter books–and a variety of mobile phone games like Find Scabbers and Mastering Magic. There was even a massively multiplayer online Harry Potter game planned at one point.

According to EA they are going to bring out a full line of games based on the upcoming film Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. Timed to coincide with the film’s November release, the games will arrive on the Wii, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 2, Nintendo DS, PSP Games PC, Mac, and mobile phones.

EA’s UK-based Bright Light studio is handling development on the game and looking to improve on previous installments of the series “with a particular focus on the unique control system of Nintendo’s Wii,” according to the publisher. In addition to the expected wizard duels, players will be able to create magical elixirs in a potion-creating class, as well as hop aboard a broomstick to take part in quidditch matches.

While the novel is the sixth of seven installments in J.K. Rowling’s wildly popular series of books, Half-Blood Prince is the sixth of eight Potter films. Faced with the prospect of tying up all the series’ loose ends in one film (and with seeing the hugely successful series come to a close), Warner Bros. Pictures has decided to split the final book in the series–Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows–into two different films, set for release in November 2010 and May 2011.

Electronic Arts has announced that it intends to release a Harry Potter video game alongside the forthcoming film, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. It’ll be available on a range of formats, including the holy trinity of DS, PSP, and mobile.

Oh, *spoiler alert.*
“We believe that the Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince video game represents a milestone in the movie tie-in genre,” says Harvey Elliott, head of EA Bright Light studio. “The team here is working closely with the film-makers to create an immersive interactive experience that captures the story, the action, the excitement and, above all, the fun of the film.”

The new Sony PSP CFW 3.95 GEN will be available to download for Sony Playstation Portable very soon. According to qj, developer assure that 3.95 GEN is functional and the latest build solve some compatibility problems with PSP FAT models.

It’s a quarter to three in the morning, my neglected puppy is whining for its dinner (about seven hours overdue) and my eyeballs are this close to falling out of their sockets. Still, it does not stop me from continuing one last mission (or so I said three missions ago!) of Patapon, one of the most incredulously addictive PSP games of all time.

Besides boasting of an unusual game play, Patapon is also great eye candy for those who are tired of games proclaiming that their “cutting-edge 3D graphics” is the best there is. Patapon is not that, and in a way because this game is uniquely classified for its unpretentious tone and manner. There are also two other reasons to play this game: Loco Roco and Rolito. Loco Roco is a PSP game done in a similar style although in a different genre, and was also a product of Japan Studios that developed Patapon. Rolito on the other hand, is French genius whose artistry brought the cute little eyeballs to life in Patapon.

Patapon is a rhythm-cum-RTS game where you command your own army of cute talking drums by pressing the square (pata), circle (pon), triangle (chaka) and ‘x’ (don) buttons. Varying combos must be created to order your troops to perform attacking or defending moves.

Patapon Minigames

There are various unlockable mini games in Patapon. To get the mini cooking game and mountain game, you need to acquire the Gashapon hat on the 17th mission and the Kimpon hat on mission 14 respectively. My preferred mini game would be the tree mini game which can begotten once I obtain the Pakapon hat on the 2nd mission.

The God of War is a firm favorite among fans who love hack-and-slash games and is famous for its gruesome death scenes. It was released in the PS2 platform years ago and due to the endless requests and support from fans, Sony Computer Entertainment saw it fit to bring the game to the PSP and thus God of War: Chain of Olympus was born.

This is a prequel of sorts where the story begins a decade before its predecessor. Kratos is sent to the ancient city of Attica where he must defend it from the vicious Persian army (think Xerxes’ henchmen in the movie “300”) with his trusty Blades of Chaos and his trademark Gauntlet of Zeus. Kratos succeeded in his mission but misfortune fell when he saw the sun disappearing from the sky, blanketing the world in a sheet of stark darkness. He then encounters a myriad of mythical characters in his quest to restore the sun but in the process, many revelations were revealed including situations pertaining to betrayal, sacrifice and redemption.

This time, the game showcased Kratos in a new light a nd players realized that he is not a bloodthirsty monster at all. I must say I enjoyed the story arc and seeing how much his daughter, Calliope, meant to him. I was also amused by the turn of events, especially how Kratos managed to defeat Charon, the River Styx boatman on his second attempt.

To get the McKratos costume, you need to complete all five missions when you encounter the Challenge of Hades. Beating the game on God mode will earn you the Mime of War costume while finishing the game on any difficulty will get you a Spud of War suit.

What do you get when you cross a whip, a fedora and some Lego blocks? The new Lego Indiana Jones game of course! The Lego Indiana Jones: the Original Adventures is set to be released on the PSP as well as other handheld platforms like the Nintendo DS as well the XBOX 360 and PS3. LucasArts is banking on the hype generated from the upcoming Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull movie in hope of making this game a success.

Like its Star Wars predecessor, Lego Indiana Jones will feature a myriad of familiar characters done in blocky Lego form. I find this very appealing and charming as I have fond memories of enjoying Lego-play when I was a child, so why shouldn’t I do the same for Lego video games now that I’m an adult? I expect to see witty dialogues and cheesy humor in this game and I wasn’t disappointed. Lego Indiana Jones for the PSP follows Indy’s adventures throughout the first three films from the franchise: Raiders of the Lost Ark, Temple of Doom and the Last Crusade.

If you wander around Indy’s Barnett College, you’ll find that LucasArts has developed this game nicely and inserted good details strewn all over the game. You can access various rooms in the college and gain a barrage of goodies that come in the form of exclusive cutscenes and unlockable characters once you earn enough in-game tokens. Like the original Lego Star Wars games, Indy will be able to hop on virtually any mode of transportation in the game. I’m looking forward to seeing Indy ride on an elephant in true Lego style, blocky trunks and all!

How is it that fans have not had enough of not one, not two, but four installments of Bleach 3D fighting game on the Sony PSP? I don’t rightly know the answer to this but what I do know is that SCEI is more than happy to give fans what they want by releasing Bleach: Heat the Soul 5 in Japan on May 2008.

Like its predecessors, Bleach Heat the Soul PSP game is an excellently made fighting game done in full 3D cell-shaded style. I am delighted to find that the developers have included a new Tag Action system (like Tekken Tag, my other favorite 3D fighting game) which boasts of three different tag actions: Defensive, Offensive and Technical. as well as a new way to unleash zanpakuto. You can choose to select one of the 31 characters in the new Tag Battle mode; while Tag Master lets you pick two of your favorite characters and partner them up in a series of fights, tournament style.

PSP Bleach: Heat the Soult 5 Tips and Tricks

Among some notable characters who are missing from this game include Ichigo shinigami version, Gin Ichimaru EX version and Sosuke Aizen EX version. Adult Nel can be unlocked once you gained 50,000 points in Tag Master mode while Pantera Grimmjow will be yours to use after you beat the Story Mode.

Overall, this game is a must-have for Bleach fans and even non-fans will love the stylized 3D images although I must say that this game is a tad too short compared to its predecessors.
