If you think that improved games brought forward from previous-gen consoles will be nothing but rehashed, lame efforts, think again. You need to run out immediately and get your own copy of the Nintendo Wii’s Super Smash Bros. Brawl, one of the best cross over video fighting games of all time. Released in January 2008, this game is special because it ring outs take precedence over knockouts. And Super Smash Bros Brawl is not just a punch and kick sort of game. Far from it, this game boasts of a nice single player mode called The Subspace Emissary, where players will enjoy an engrossing plot while immersed in a side scrolling beat ‘em up mission.

Four control styles can be utilized using the Wiimote, the combination of the Wiimote and Nunchuk, the Classic Controller as well as the old but trusty Gamecube controller. With a wave of the control stick or a tap of the D-pad, a variety of attacks is performed against your rivals. Each character comes with four distinct, trademark moves called Super Attacks, which are not unlike Cloud Strife’s Limit Break in the Final Fantasy VII series. Among famous characters to make an appearance in Super Smash Bros Brawl are Link from the Zelda series, Donkey Kong, Sonic the Hedgehog and the ever sullen but memorable Solid Snake from Metal Gear Solid.

Super Smash Bros Brawl Tips & Tricks

To unlock Donkey Kong in the virtual console trials, you need to stay put and log on a total of 10 hours play time. Beat the Subspace Emissary using Captain Falcon and you’ll unlock F-Zero. Use Link (toon version) more than 10 times and you’ll get the Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. Similarly you can acquire Super Mario World once you play melee matches at Yoshi’s Island over three times.
