Notching the five star mark, the new and improved Wii Sports Resort promises gamers a virtually simulated experience
Bringing the zing back to its gaming experience, Nintendo has released the eagerly awaited Wii Sports Resort scoring five out of five stars almost instantly as gamers worldwide checked out the new product.
The all new Wii Sports Resort features an intense workout experience.
Priced at $49.99, the game includes a Wii MotionPlus attachment with jacket, sold separately for $19.99, needed to play the dozen games included in the package.
The Nintendo team’s expert finesse in designing games and related hardware is clearly reflected in Wii Sports Resort. It combines two sensors – an accelerometer and gyro – and the new Wii MotionPlus can detect rotation and twist movements as demonstrated in Frisbee and Sword Play games for instance. The graphics are bold and clear and the imported Mii has a more life-like body with very attractive outfits. Just like Wii Sports, the better a gamer gets at playing the games, the more intense the experience or gaming workout becomes, especially if attention is paid to the individual gamer’s form and technique. Another feature that makes it alike Wii Sports is the physical demands of the interactive sports games and the potential for injury.
Critics and reviewers from the gaming community advise that the tutorials should be watched carefully. Gamers are advised to make sure there is enough clear space above and around them, especially in the case of taller players, otherwise the risk of physical harm or injury is more. For instance, while playing overhand shots for basketball, the player may quite easily hit the ceiling.
Gamers are also recommended to wear the wrist strap and resist the temptation to break from good form. Excellence in form and technique is essential in any of the interactive sports games as a Wii Fitness Workout. The fun of the games is in simulating the sport, so follow the instructions and observe the safety pointers.
The Wii Sports Resort offers some great games for beginners and gamers who want seated, low-impact, and no-impact Wii Fitness workouts. However, these games do demand enormous stamina, focus, skill, balance and deep breathing.
The original Wii Sports came bundled with each and every Wii, and it only carried five sports. The Wii Sports Resort, however, is packing twelve sports, not five, most of which have multiple modes of gameplay.
Apart from golf and bowling, the only two holdover games, it is a completely new experience. Other games include basketball, canoeing,
jetskiing, and wakeboarding. A lot of emphasis has been put on air sports, which involves either flying a plane or jumping out of one – which is the first thing a player has to do, as a matter of fact, at least after they sit through a three-minute video on how to use the MotionPlus, which is easy and very comprehensive. With the MotionPlus gadget, the player can actually feel the difference in the gaming experience.
Among the star featured games is Red Steel, which involves sword fighting, and is rated as the most popular game in the set. The player can spar with a friend or a computer simulated robot in a best of three match, or play through a mode called “Showdown,” which involves fighting your way through waves of robots.
